🚂 The Train Ride ðŸš‚

In F1 class we have been trying a new scheme called talk for writing. First we looked at our story of the week ‘The Train Ride’ we discussed the pictures and what the children thought was happening, who the characters were and what they could see. We talked about the author and illustrator and what their jobs were. After reading the book and watching a story of it on the interactive whiteboard we made a story map. The children made actions for each sentence in the book and Miss Butterworth recorded them onto the paper.

After a practice the children read the story using the map all by themselves. I think you will agree they did a fantastic job! 😊

The afternoon class had a turn at telling the story too, we have lots of new faces in our afternoon class so some were a bit shy but they did a great job! Well done 😊

🐣 Chicken Run! ðŸ£

This morning F1 class were very lucky, the rest of the school had gone to church so we got to go into Y4 class to see the chicks! We all sat in a circle and Miss Butterworth and Mrs Williams very carefully got the chicks out of their special box. We stroked the chicks and loved watching them run abd flap their wings! We thought it was very funny when they tried to escape! Their feathers felt lovely and soft but they did make a bit of a mess! 🙈
